Hey all,
I have moved to this form of communication to separate group emails from personal ones. Now you might be asking yourself “where is my personal email” and I’ll answer that with this. “Where is mine???” Just kidding, but if you do feel the need to send me anything I will try to respond as soon as I can.
Now back to travel…
Robyn and I have finished our 5 day Spanish language course and are now more able to speak Spanish that we are after spending 9 years learning German at school. We are still learning and hopefully will remember more as time goes by.
Yesterday we spent a day out of Santiago in two towns. Valparaisio and Vina Del Mar. They are 2 hours from the city but it was good to leave the smog behind for the day. Unfortunately that was replaced by fog for a lot of the morning. Once that cleared up, all was good.
Valparaisio was a sweet little town built on the side of the surrounding hills, much like San Francisco. The one unique thing was the Funicular elevators that were like little trains that were quite short but really fun to watch and ride. They were built over 100 years ago to transport people and other stuff up and down the hills.
Vina Del Mar was a beach town that was also fairly nice, but it was not hot enough to swim in the Melbourne like waters. It was pretty cool though also offering parks. It was fun watching the waves crash into the peer as the water was flat until just before the shore line.
Tonight we leave for Pucon which is like the Queenstown of Chile. It offers all the adventure sports you would expect. White water rafting, Skiing, Snowboarding to name a few. The attraction for us is the Volcano climb that is snow-covered and active. I will keep you posted and feel free to post comments of your own. Till next time, keep well.
Glen and Robyn

Good to see you are actually using this. Especially after the massive 5 minutes effort I put into setting it up for you!
